One of the Triangle’s largest annual events and among the nation’s largest downtown motorcycle rallies earns Raleigh the spotlight on Velocity Network’s nationally televised show “ToyMakerz.” The episode “Rally in Raleigh” premieres tonight, Friday, December 22, 2017, at 8:00 p.m. It features the sights and sounds of this year’s Ray Price Capital City Bikefest, held this past September on Fayetteville Street and in the Raleigh Convention Center. ToyMakerz can be seen in the Triangle on Spectrum channel 80, DIRECTV channel 281, Dish Network channel 246, as well as on iTunes and the Velocity Network website.
“We’re thrilled to have Capital City Bikefest and downtown Raleigh featured in a nationally televised program,” said Mark Hendrix, general manager of Ray Price, Inc. “After 13 years and about one million people attending Capital City Bikefest, we’re excited that a nationwide audience will see how diverse and enthusiastic our motorcycle culture is in North Carolina’s capital.”
“ToyMakerz” is based on the life and creations of Reidsville, N.C. native, and ToyMakers owner, David Ankin. The show embodies the modern definition of its title, featuring “unique toys for big boys.” Ankin is a former stunt man, motorcycle racer and custom fabricator. He is well-versed in the creation of specialized vehicles of all types, including race cars, custom motorcycles, trucks and unique reverse trikes.
