Wrestling and worship are coming together in downtown Raleigh.
Freedom Biker Church of Clayton hosts a worship service every year at the Ray Price Capital City Bikefest and Motorsports Expo. The service is the church’s largest evangelistic community outreach, and this year it will have a unique twist as it showcases the Gospel and grappling.
The worship service, which will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, will feature four wrestling matches with testimonies and a sermonette mixed in. The main event is a tag-team match with Jimmy Valiant and Rocky Morton taking on George South Sr. and Jr.
Freedom Biker Church is partnering with the North Carolina Wrestling Association to bring those wrestlers, along with Ivan Koloff, Shane Douglas, The Barbarian and The Sandman. All of the wrestlers are professed Christians and will appear at a meet-and-greet at the end of the service.
“This is an exciting opportunity for Freedom as it gets to set up center stage and share its simple message of real freedom,” said Mike Beasley, pastor of Freedom Biker Church.
The Ray Price Capital City Bikefest and Motorsports Expo will be at the Raleigh Convention Center from Sept. 23-25.
Koloff, one of the wrestlers, will meet fans at the church’s expo booth Saturday.
